Church Plant 2010 till now
Kenny and I, together with our sons Daniel and Joshua, and niece Sarah, planted iHeart Melbourne Church in May 2010 and had ~40 people turn up for our inaugural service in Jasper Hotel. The curious thing about people attending church services, from our observation at least, is that many are seeking or desirous of the 'tickle' or 'wow' factor from the pulpit, the thrill of the experience during the 'big day' events, and or the satisfaction from everything they can get out of the Pastors, and then leave the moment these 'treats' become familiar or unimpressive, and or when it is time to face the task of gaining maturity.
Throughout the last 15 years of this 'church plant', we have seen the 'congregation' grow to ~40 and then shrink to ~10, and then grow again to ~40 and then sink to ~10, several times over. What has been immensely encouraging is the knowledge and experience of the LORD's Presence, Power, Provision, Progressive Revelation, and Passion throughout this passage of time. We have learnt a whole heap of the Kingdom of God, His culture and values, His business and purposes, and His ability to lead and guide us through this journey.
Some of the experiences we have accumulated include running ‘pulpit’ services, organising ‘big day’ events, running camps on home ground and in Nepal. These unfortunately only serve to attract curious people who leave as suddenly and as transitory as they ‘join’ the church community.
Some of the truths we have gleaned according to the LORD's way which we practice include (a) legacy is built through family relationship and genuine friendships and any other building may not last very long, (b) understanding and practising the culture and values of God's Kingdom must be paramount as this brings favour and fruitfulness, (c) the LORD requires mature sons and daughters (not orphans) who know who they are in Christ, and who are about their Father's business, (d) lifestyle discipleship is key to growth and maturity, (e) do everything from a place of love, and rest, etc, too many other truths to include here.
Because our church community is now usually ~15 in attendance we meet mostly via zoom to enable overseas and interstate people to join, and on the last weekend of each month in person.

Kenny Joyce Daniel Joshua
By God’s amazing grace, Kenny and I live and move and have our being. We are both bi-vocational and work full time while simultaneously work in Father’s business. Kenny works in the largest gold mining company in the world as the SAP Security guru, shares the exhortation during the 1st Saturday service of each month, and spends time with 2 young men every Thursday teaching them the Bible and the way of the LORD. I manage a law firm and provide legal advice to all sorts of people from different walks of life, appear in court or represent clients at mediation when necessary, share the exhortation on 2 of the Saturday services each month, play a role on the board of 5 charity organisations, and project manage (or support) 5 charity projects (Cambodia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Australia) (potentially more in 2025).
Kenny works predominantly from home and manages a lot of the household requirements. Due to the flexibility of my work, I undertook numerous trips interstate and overseas in 2023, and repeated this ‘habit’ in 2024, for work, ministry, missionary, and on a rare occasion for a treat.
In order to maintain a large tummy for delicious Asian food, Kenny cycles ~200 kilometres per week. As for me, it is a necessity to exercise by cycling ~100 kilometres per week (heart health), walking (coz apparently it’s the way to lose the mushroom top belly fat), and swinging 2kg dumb bells around (strengthening in attempt to prove to my boys that I am not that weak, although they are actually right).
Our eldest Daniel completed his degree in Software Engineering end 2023 and in February 2024 commenced his full time job as a Software Engineer in Sydney. He married his beautiful wife Fiona from High School in January 2024, and they now live together in Sydney. She works as an Auditor in one of the 'big 4' accounting firms. They both fell in love .. with the snow during their trip to Japan in January 2024 and will most likely make this an annual ritual.
Our youngest Joshua has 2 days of university classes in pursuit of his undergraduate Computer Science degree (2nd year in 2024) and 4 days of part time programming work at a bank. He has switched passions from basketball to skiing / snowboarding and will spend most of February 2025 in powder snow Japan (with Daniel and Fiona).
Both Daniel and Joshua are rostered to share sermonettes during Wednesday ‘Prayer’ and exhortations for offerings and communion during Saturday ‘Service’. When we had regular in person services (prior to COVID), the elder played the drums, and the younger sang or managed the soundboard.
Our home is comprised of 5 including (3 adult persons and) 2 British Shorthair cats that resemble Garfield (Mochi) and Nermal (Sesame). This is tame compared to the zoo that our residence managed in past history (we’ve had the works; fish, mice, guinea pigs, birds, rabbits, cats, lizard, snake, chooks).

MFG
It has been an incredible life journey while being part of MFG since ~2017.
We have made many friends during and after our trips to Thessaloniki (2017), Huddersfield (2018), Madrid (2019), Yarnfield (2023) and Athens (2024) for the annual conferences and have had the privilege of a few come onto our zoom meetings to share including Colin, Memos, Randy, Raymond and Sarah. Bruce and Lynne have regularly visited in person.
We have sincerely appreciated the depth of wisdom, counsel, advice, encouragement and support from the friends we have in MFG

CHURCH FAMILY
All our church community walk with the LORD, whether newborn, toddler, mature, very mature, and have stories to tell about their adventures and encounters with transformation, breakthroughs, fruitfulness etc. We have a few prophetic and quite a few able to teach in our church community. All are reaching out in their spheres of influence to share kindness, the gospel of Jesus’ kingdom, and if permitted, to disciple new believers. It is incredibly exhilarating to regularly experience the Holy Spirit move through signs wonders and miracles, and hear stories of such occasions throughout the year.
Since COVID, the LORD’s theme for each year has been “Maturity”, “Legacy”, “Leadership” and “Fruitfulness”. We are incredibly privileged and blessed to have this wonderful church family to journey life together and are quietly exuberant to see what the future will unfold for each of them and for the church corporately.
The Lord was Matchmaker to Sarah and Jason, who after 4 years of bliss have multiplied their home base to 3, baby Hannah was just born on 21 September 2024. He was also Matchmaker to James and Ching, who have been married for 2 years and are eagerly endeavouring to multiply too. Denzel has flipped his life around from zero to hero and in 2023 planted a little ‘church’ of 7 boys from his basketball coaching. Allen, Sam, Adrian, Nick are young men who have individually experienced the transformational power of God and are on their journey to maturity, leadership and legacy. Some parents have regularly attended our meetings online from overseas. We are planning to reach out to all the parents of all the young people (who do not have a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ) during the end of 2024 and in 2025.
Everyone lives pretty normal lives but due to the quest for good works are usually super busy with lots to juggle. There is a whole lot more to do and accomplish (in view of Jesus’ imminent return which who knows when !!??) so 2025 and beyond is not looking likely to slow down or diminish in any way shape or form but in fact accelerate.
